Who we are
This site is run by Storey Consulting Limited, a UK company helping local people get jobs and training places that come out of new development in their area. Today the only live deliverable on this hub is Pearl Yard, the Greystar build-to- rent scheme on Surrey Quays Road in Bermondsey. Other London schemes will be added as their planning agreements come into effect.
Storey Consulting is the data controller for everything you enter on this site. If you have any questions, email dan@storeyconsulting.co.uk.
What we collect
When you sign up and apply for a job we collect:
- your name, email, and phone number
- your home postcode (so we can show you opportunities tied to development near you)
- your CV and anything else you upload to your profile
- which roles you have applied for and what stage each application is at
Why we collect it
We use your data to match you with paid jobs, apprenticeships, training places, and work placements that exist because a new development in your borough has a Section 106 employment and skills obligation attached to it. The Pearl Yard scheme is the first of these. Without your details we cannot do the matching, send you the application confirmation, or pass your application to the employer who is hiring.
Who sees your data
Three groups, in three different ways:
The developer or employer for jobs you apply to
When you apply for a specific role, your full application (name, contact details, CV, any answers you give) is shared with that employer or with the developer running the scheme. Without this they cannot consider your application.
The borough council, in aggregate only
Councils need to check that developers are meeting the employment commitments in their planning agreement. We share numbers with the borough (how many local residents applied, how many were hired, how many completed their training) but not raw applicant records. Your name, contact details, and CV are never sent to the council.
Storey Consulting staff and our hosting providers
A small Storey team runs the platform day to day, and we use Hetzner (Germany) for hosting and Cloudflare (Ireland) for the public site. Your data sits on EU servers under standard UK data-transfer safeguards. We do not sell your data to anyone, ever.
How long we keep your data
We keep your account, CV, and application history for up to three years after your last sign-in, then we delete it. If you are hired through the platform, the basic record of that outcome (job title, start date, employer) is kept for up to seven years for the council compliance audit, but your CV and contact details are removed after the same three-year window. You can ask us to delete everything sooner at any time.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- show you everything we hold about you
- correct anything that is wrong
- delete your account and your data
- export your data so you can take it elsewhere
- stop using your data for a particular purpose
Email dan@storeyconsulting.co.uk with what you want done. We will reply within 30 days, free of charge. If we need to verify it really is you before we act, we will ask for one form of ID and nothing more.
If you are not happy with how we handle your data
Tell us first so we can put it right. If you are still not satisfied, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (the UK data-protection regulator) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or by calling 0303 123 1113.
Updates to this notice
When we add a new scheme or change how we share data, we will update this page and put a note on the homepage so you can see what changed. If the change affects how your data is used, we will email you before it takes effect.
